Familiarity and compliance with standards such as the Conduit Inspection Reporting Code of Australia or the Pressure Sewerage Code of Australia, are essential for anyone conducting pipe and conduit inspection and maintenance. Austeck has been supplying unique and reliable inspection and maintenance equipment for 25 years to ensure these standards are met.

As part of the Conduit Inspection Reporting Code of Australia, WSA 05-2013, conduit inspections can involve visual inspection, compaction testing, pressure testing, infiltration checks, deflection testing and CCTV inspections in order to verify the asset meets design and construction standards. CCTV has become standard practice when conducting inspections as it covers multiple aspects of WSA 05-2013 inspection standards while remaining cost effective, eliminating the need for excavation, and producing fast and reliable data.

Austeck has been supplying pipeline inspection equipment since 1992, including but not limited to CCTV, fibre optics, sound testing equipment and now drone technology. With 25 years experience, Austeck has established itself as the market leader in robotic opto-electronics.

Equipment and support in harmony

Tristan Day, Austeck Managing Director, said providing reliable equipment that enables compliance of industry standards is always at the forefront of their minds.

“When selecting new products to offer our clients, one of our top priorities is ensuring it meets technical standards and allows compliance with WSA 05-2013 including CCTV capability, information recording and image quality,” Mr Day said.

“We don’t just supply equipment, we give businesses the tools to succeed by making sure they deliver great results for their clients. And this will help them to grow while being confident they are meeting standards. We achieve this by ensuring we supply reliable, innovative products but equally important is the quality after-sales service we provide,” Mr Day said.

Brendan Dover from The Drain Man said the company has purchased a number of items from Austeck over the years.

“Not only has Austeck allowed us to comply with industry standards, Austeck has enabled us to bring new service delivery standards to the industry with the equipment they supply us with,” Mr Dover said.

Austeck has dedicated service facilities in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth staffed with fully trained and qualified technicians who have the resources, skills and knowledge to provide commitments and guarantees.

“Some of our clients come in knowing exactly what they want, other times a client might present us a problem and together with our experienced staff members, we work out the best solution we can offer,” Mr Day said.

“All of our clients receive ongoing support and maintenance of their equipment with the opportunity to opt in for an annual maintenance agreement. And because we know in this industry working nine to five is a luxury not afforded to us, it is our policy to offer telephone support to our clients, 24-hours a day, on all matters relating to equipment maintenance and operation to help get them home quicker.

“If the equipment is new to you, we even offer training in operation, troubleshooting, cleaning, maintenance and minor repairs.”

Halley and Mellows NSW Service Manager, Brett Hyland, said they have been relying on Austeck for over 20 years.

“Their support and willingness to provide tailored solutions that cater to our needs has proved invaluable to the efficiency and productivity of our business,” Mr Hyland said.

“Providing leading edge technology and a service to match is crucial to staying ahead of the competition and what we have built our reputation upon. So partnering with reliable and innovative companies like Austeck is of the highest priority.”

Angus Heares, Network Maintenance Program Leader at Logan City Council said the Council has made many system acquisitions from Austeck since 1994 and have found them to be the most cost effective.

“Austeck’s knowledge and access to global emerging technologies keeps us up to date with developments. Their local technical backup and support makes them ideal for keeping our equipment humming,” Mr Heares said.

Mr Day said Austeck affords its clients quality, security and peace of mind.

“We provide what few others can; the facilities, man power and wealth of experience to make sure you’re getting the right product for your needs and walking away with all the know how you need to operate it confidently.”
